Christmas Gospel Concert, December 11 at the Nuovo Teatro Verdi
On Friday, December 11, the Brindisi Tabernacle choir and band return to the Nuovo Teatro Verdi with Durell Comedy, our guest from the United States. All tickets 10 euros.
On Friday, December 11, 2026 at 8:30 PM, the Nuovo Teatro Verdi in Brindisi hosts Brindisi Tabernacle's Christmas Gospel Concert: an evening of gospel music to celebrate Christmas together in our city. Tickets are 10 euros for everyone, a social price so that no one is left out.
Our special guest is Durell Comedy, returning to Brindisi from the United States: he already sang with the Brindisi Tabernacle band and choir in 2023. Raised near Washington, D.C., he trained as a dancer and spent twelve years performing in New York with the Limón Dance Company and the Mark Morris Dance Group.
It was in New York that he found his voice: for nine years he was a soloist with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, the six-time Grammy-winning gospel choir, and sang with them at President Obama's second inauguration ceremony. He now lives in North Carolina and records gospel music, including with artists such as Charity Gayle and StowTown Worship.
On stage with him is the Brindisi Tabernacle gospel choir, which grew out of the BT Gospel School and rehearses every Monday at Via San Francesco 1. Adults, teenagers and children sing together, with a live band.
The choir already brought its Christmas to the stage of the Nuovo Teatro Verdi on December 9, 2024. Over the last two winters it has also sung in prison and, in December 2025, in Bari. In February 2026 it returned to the Teatro Verdi with the Gospel Rock show of Verdi in Rock.
The night opens with the pre-concert “Savana in festa”, with Jean-Hamado Tiemtoré, president of the Jamafrica ASD association.
The evening is organised together with Associazione Maliana in Puglia, GLA Guy Leadership Academy, the City of Brindisi, Comunità africana di Brindisi e provincia, Jamafrica ASD and Fondazione Nuovo Teatro Verdi.
Tickets will be on sale on Vivaticket: we will post the link here as soon as it is available. If you would like to sing with us next year, start with the BT Gospel School, where the first trial lesson is free.
